- Bow upon entering and leaving the
studio to ALL Black Belts upon entering and before leaving the Do
Jang for the day.
- Bow when entering and leaving the karate mat. [Facing toward the
flag(s).]
- Black Belts are addressed by their last names
- Turn volume to off or vibrate on all pagers and cell phones in
Do Jang.
- No one is allowed in the office without permission. |

- White Du Bok’s (Uniforms) must be worn at
all times, except when specified.
- T-Shirt – Saturdays are T-Shirt day. Students may wish to work
out in a T-Shirt on this day. The T-Shirt should be worn tucked into
the karate pants with a belt and should be either the color of the
student’s belt or white.
-Please make sure your attendance card is complete - name, age, rank,
etc. Take your card from the box and place in the acrylic holder to
ensure you receive a credit for each class you participate in.
-No profane, alcohol, drug, or tobacco t-shirts are allowed in Do Jang
by anyone (students or visitors).
-When wishing to talk to another member of the class while in the Do
Jang, exchange bows (the lower ranking member bowing first).
-When you are training, try to clear your mind of any problems outside
of the Do Jang.
-Keep body reasonably clean: free from odor, finger nails and toe nails
clipped and clean and watch for athletes foot and use fungicidal spray
if necessary.
-If you have a severe cold or contagious disease of any type, do not
attend class.
-Wash uniform after each class.
-Wearing of watches, medallions, and/or necklaces is prohibited. Wedding
rings may be worn if covered with tape.
- Store ALL equipment on racks. All bags and equipment must be labeled
with your name.
- Parents - Please refer to your child’s instructors by their
last name to reinforce this discipline with your child.
- Parents - Do not enter the mat or Do Jang area while a class is in
session.
- Parents – DO NOT “instruct” from sidelines.
-Parents- Please cuff sleeves and pants to keep them out of student’s
way. (This is for safety reasons, so you or your child does not fall)
-No profanity.
-No gum chewing or eating of candy.
-No alcohol or drugs consumed before or while attending class.
-Drinking of water during class is permitted in small quantities, due
to the prevention of heat cramps, heat exhaustion, hyperventilation
and heat stroke.
-Keep temper and bad/poor attitudes under control. Both are harmful
not only to you but to those that are training with you, they can cause
accidents. Leave you attitudes at the door in your shoes!
-Light contact rule to preferred and required.
-Groin protectors and mouth guards are required when sparring. Wearing
of protective pads is recommended.
-Federation and club patches are to be displayed in the approved manner.
-If you attend class at another Tang Soo Do Club, behave in a manner
befitting your rank and club association. If you visit a club of another
style by invitation, make sure you know what their rules are and abide
by them. If they single you out as a target, leave immediately. You
are not a target nor should you make one of another person.
-If a member of another Tang Soo Do club comes to visit, treat them
as you would a member of your own club. Members of another style are
not permitted to attend class unless ,permission is granted by the
Chief Instructor.
-Respect for your club members is encouraged Remember, we are family!
